How did we get here!

Christmas.....it seems like it was just summer. Time seems to be moving at an excellerated rate the older I get. Well we have been making Santa’s and feather trees since August. By this time I’m just hoping I can drag myself over the finish line. I’ve painted, sculpted, twisted, trimmed, priced and displayed everything for in the store. It’s Thanksgiving  in two weeks, after that we have Black Friday, Small Business  Saturday and Late Shoppers Night. December 13-15 is Christkindle Market here in Mifflinbug. If I make it that far I think my kids are coming......somewhere in between all of this I have to squeeze in Christmas shopping, clean the house and get the cabin ready for the out of town era to stay at. God help me! Ok enough thoughts for now. Hope to see everyone soon!

Time to get back to work!

May's half gone already so my attention needs to be on work. Slowly but surely I have been working on my store, getting it ready for the upcoming Fall season. This week the creative juices have begun to flow again and I'm starting to think about creating new Halloween pieces.I had quite a dry spell the past couple of months. After the Easter season I really needed sometime off so we have been mainly focusing on painting our house inside. Owning one of these big old monster 170 year old houses takes a lot of maintenance. There's always something to do and it will never ever be finished! Guy retired in January, took our sons on a trip to Hawaii so now hes home and has all the time in the world to work on this place....lucky him! For those of you who know "Raisin", she is three now. She's 120 pounds of bulldozer. She is a sweet Rottweiler but a handful. The store is closed over the summer but we should reopen late August this year so keep checking. Remember you can find what we are working on under Kay Stamm on Facebook......

Changes.....

With the new year comes changes. Some changes are good and some changes are not so good. My husband Guy has retired. Retired, what comes with that? Hopefully we will be able to do more with my business. I’m trying to stay positive that having more hands on to get the work done is a good thing. Like I said, I’m trying to be positive! Easter work is underway now. It’s been a slow start but we are now starting to pick up speed. I have several new Easter items for this year and I’m excited to get working. The weather here in central Pa has been down right miserable. I can’t remember the last time it had been as bitter cold as we just experienced. Hopefully that’s it for this winter. I had my last eye surgery a week ago and everything is good. I can see again..thank GOD! Raisin has become accustomed to sleeping in bed most days during this cold. She’s one lazy Rottweiler. I think her winter weight has climbed to 120 lbs. Shes a beast but also a baby. The store will open Friday March 1st for the Easter season so stop by and see what’s new!
